The Damus Wynn Memorial Scholarship
The Damus N. Wynn Memorial Scholarship – Presented in conjunction with the parents of Damus N. Wynn, who established the scholarship in his memory, this award helps aspiring artists in the performing and creative arts pursue their education, training, and career goals by helping remove financial barriers.

Universal Humanity Award (People’s Choice Award
Universal Humanity Award (People’s Choice Award) – Recognizes a person, business, or organization whose impact reflects our shared humanity and inspires others. Nominations are accepted for this award, with the final honoree selected through the People’s Choice process.
2025 Recipient: Descendants of Olivewood
Descendants of Olivewood is a Houston-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and maintaining Olivewood Cemetery—the city's oldest incorporated African American burial ground. Established in 1875, it is the final resting place for over 4,000 early Black Houstonians, including formerly enslaved individuals,
prominent community leaders, and civil rights trailblazers.
Overcomer Award
Overcomer Award – Honors individuals who have shown exceptional courage and resilience in overcoming life challenges.
2025 Recipient: Andrew Case
After losing all four of his limbs due to cellulitis that led to sepsis, Andrew has continued to live with extraordinary strength, courage, and determination. Today, he is an inspiring adaptive quadruple amputee, a triathlon competitor, a powerful speaker, and a memorable presence who has proudly rocked the Skin I’m In Fashion Week runway.
Andrew is truly an Overcomer.

2025 Recipient: Deonc Bradley
Despite living with Jarcho-Levin Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that required Deonc to undergo surgery every six months to expand her chest cavity, she continues to smile, shine, and inspire everyone around her. Many individuals with the severity of her condition do not live beyond the age of two, yet Deonc is now 18 years old, a graduating senior in the Class of 2026, and joyfully embraces her love for art, dancing, and beauty pageants.
Today, she celebrates a powerful milestone: no more surgeries.
Deonc is truly an overcomer.
